The Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU) has been established by an Act of Parliament called the Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University Act, 2013 at Fursatganj Raebareli, Dist. Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. The university has been envisaged as the premier institution of higher learning within the aviation milieu aimed at providing cutting edge and critical research to enhance the aviation industry in India. The Act of Parliament empowers the university to award Diploma, Degree, and Post Graduate Degrees in the field of civil aviation. At the same time collaborations with the leading international universities/ institutions in the aviation domain, are being forged towards proffering global knowledge that is customized to local requirements.

Norms for Discharge of Functions [Section 4(1)(b)(iv)]

1.4.1

Nature of functions/ services offered

The establishment of the university is to facilitate and promote through aviation management, aviation science and technology, aviation medicine, safety and security through teaching, training, research and by extension work in conjunction with the industry to achieve excellence in operations and management of all the sub-sectors within the aviation industry. The university intends to offer a number of courses as required to bridge the skill gap within the Indian aviation industry considering the the present and the future requirements.

Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU), being India’s premier aviation university, adheres to specific norms and standards in terms of functions and service delivery, especially as a government institution under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

1. Internal Grievance Resolution Cell

Vice Chancellor, RGNAU constituted Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) as provided in the UGC (Redressal of Grievance of Students) Regulations,2023 with immediate effect. The details can be seen here.

2. Internal Complaints Committee

A Committee has been constituted to address the complaints on caste-based discrimination against SC/ST/OBCs Students, Staff and Faculty. The details can be seen here.

3. Internal Complaints Committee on Sexual Harassment

A Committee has been constituted to go into and recommend necessary steps with regard to complaints on sexual harassment and to address issues related to Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of such complaints. The details can be seen here.
